06.29.09Speaking of Uniqlo…If you want to see people in Blue C land get seriously happy then the following rumor will actually come true: UNIQLO will buy GAP. Trust us when we say for anyone who has never been to a Uniqlo imagine the GAP with more interesting style and really good prices. At risk, of course, is whether this awesome Japanese brand would survive the melting pot of the States, but our guess is we are ready for them!

06.16.09Sushi Chefs Beware!Japan has come a long way in the robot world, bust robot's making sushi is new to us! This robot is so technologically advanced that it can locate small objects such as rice balls, and pieces of fish to assemble sushi and create platters! Interesting to note that the founder of Kaiten Sushi lost almost all of his fortune trying to develop robots to replace people in his restaurants. Let's just say we're in no rush to get into the robotics game yet. RFID is enough.

06.16.09First the skateboarding dog, now this?!Sure, a bulldog skateboarding but this is a little more up our alley. A Japanese family has created street food with more of an American tone lately, although I don't think New Yorkers would agree. Noriki Tamura and his wife moved to Vancouver in 2005 with a dream to open a sidewalk cart. His dream didn't pan out quite as he expected (he originally wanted to open a crepe stand), but Japadog carts have become a huge success in Vancouver, BC. People don't seem to mind waiting in line 40 people deep for pork sausages with nori shreds, teriyaki sauce, ...

06.16.09A True Japanese Hot DogHe's just a pup with stubby legs, but that hasn't stopped Bazooka from becoming Japan's top skateboarding dog. The 2-year-old English Bulldog skated through a Tokyo park earlier this week, pushing his board with his hind feet and shifting his weight on all four to steer, just like two-legged riders. This may be a familiar site in Venice Beach, but certainly not in Seattle or Japan!
